Where did you grow up and where do you live now?
I grew up in Liberty, Missouri and I currently live in the West Plaza neighborhood.
What did you want to do when you were growing up?
I have always was interested in going into real estate in some capacity. But before college I was not as familiar with all of the different career options in the real estate field. When I was younger I was interested in running a construction company.
What was your first job?
Working at BRES is my first full time job since graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia in May of 2014. My high school jobs were working at Family Tree Nursery and as a life guard during the summers.
Describe your career
My day to day life with my career is very exciting and enjoyable. I spend much of my time working with clients marketing their properties and assisting them with their real estate needs.
How did you end up working within the Commercial Real Estate as an associate?
My senior year of college I knew I wanted to go into commercial real estate brokerage. I started sending out my resume and was lucky enough to meet with Lou Serrone, (Senior VP of Brokerage at BRES), to discuss career possibilities at BRES and ultimately ended up receiving a job offer.
Do you have any immediate or long-term goals within your current position?
Immediate Goal: My immediate goals are to soak up as much knowledge about the real estate industry that I can and start building the foundation for a solid book of business.
Long-Term Goal: My long term goals are to continue to build up my brokerage career, and also to move into development and to have my own personal ownership in real estate.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned over the years?
The most important lesson I have learned over the years to have solid goals and work hard to achieve those goals.
What’s your must-read publication each day?
I read the Kansas City Business Journal every morning to keep up with what is going on locally in the Kansas City business world.
