The Kansas City Chapter of CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) is pleased to publish its annual market update, which includes articles from chapter members that address current trends in the local commercial real estate market. Our chapter is dedicated to
providing our members with networking, education and technology
training opportunities so that our designees and members can offer excellent services to those who need commercial real estate expertise. If you need commercial real estate services, CCIM is the first place to look. Only 6% of commercial real estate practitioners in the United States hold this coveted designation. To attain this designation, they must complete a curriculum that covers many critical skills, including financial analysis, market analysis, user decision-based analysis and ethics. They must develop a portfolio of experience that demonstrates a depth of real estate experience. And they must pass a comprehensive examination.
The Kansas City chapter works hard to provide opportunities for members and the community. It hosts monthly breakfast meetings, educational classes, social networking events and community service activities. This year, the chapter will host an event on the Missouri River to raise money to help keep our waters clean. Our monthly meetings include guest speakers whose disciplines re-elect current trends in commercial real estate. If you attend a meeting, you are likely to leave with both new insights into the local market and new business contacts.
If you want to learn more about attaining the CCIM designation, I urge you to attend one of our events and to visit our website www.ccimkansascity.com. You can receive some of this training locally—the Kansas City CCIM chapter offers the CCIM introduction class and two of the four classes required for the designation. Earning the designation will enhance your professionalism, allow you to provide even better service to your clients and give you access to tools offered through the national organization that help with the decision-making process.
For those looking for a commercial real estate professional, please seek out a CCIM. Our members are listed in this insert. You can also go to the website to search for members. I have been proud to work with our board of directors and their committees, who have volunteered countless hours to build our profession and deliver excellent client services for the past seven years.
We invite commercial real estate professionals, those in affiliated fields, vendors and area members of economic development groups to attend our meetings. Please check our schedule at www.ccimkansascity.com.
